Printer alignment

Print one test page on plain paper, hold it over a label sheet, and adjust if the barcodes sit off-centre. "Skip used labels" starts printing after labels already peeled off a partly used sheet.

    Fits 5160 and its twins

The layout is the standard 30-up address label: 3 columns × 10 rows of 2⅝×1 inch labels on US Letter paper, ½ inch top margin. The same layout is used by Avery 5160, 5260, 5520, 5960, 8160, 8460 and 18160, and by most store-brand "30 per sheet" labels.

Other sheets in the list: Avery 5167 (80 per sheet, small return-address labels) and Avery 5163 (10 per sheet, 4×2 inch shipping labels).

Printing tips for a perfect fit

    1. Print one test page on plain paper, hold it against a label sheet up to the light, and check the barcodes sit inside the labels.
    2. In the print dialog choose Actual size or 100%. "Fit to page" shrinks the layout and it will drift.
    3. If everything is off by the same amount, open Printer alignment and nudge the page by a millimetre or two.
    4. Have a part-used sheet? Set Skip used labels to start printing on the first empty label.

Can I print barcodes on Avery 5160 labels?

Yes. 2⅝×1 inch is enough for a Code 128 barcode with a short code and a line of text, or a small QR code.

Is this an official Avery template?

No. It is an independent tool that uses the published Avery 5160 measurements. Avery is a trademark of its owner.

Why don't my barcodes line up with the labels?

Usually the PDF was scaled when printing. Choose Actual size / 100%, then use Printer alignment to correct any remaining shift.
