Print one test page on plain paper, hold it over a label sheet, and adjust if the barcodes sit off-centre. "Skip used labels" starts printing after labels already peeled off a partly used sheet.

    UPC-A in a nutshell

UPC-A is the 12-digit barcode used on retail products in the US and Canada. The first digits are your GS1 company prefix, the next ones identify the product, and the last digit is a check digit. Retailers and marketplaces look the number up in the GS1 database, so the number must be registered to you.

Print UPC labels for your product list

    1. Paste one UPC per line (11 or 12 digits). Add a Tab or comma and the product name if you want it printed.
    2. The sheet is set to Avery 5160 (30 per page). Change it for other sheets or a thermal roll.
    3. Download the PDF and print at actual size. Use Printer alignment if your printer shifts the page.

What is the difference between UPC and EAN?

UPC-A has 12 digits and is used mainly in North America. EAN-13 has 13 digits and is used elsewhere. A UPC-A is the same as an EAN-13 with a leading zero, and modern scanners read both.

Can I print UPC barcodes on Avery 5160 labels?

Yes. 2⅝×1 inch labels are big enough for a UPC-A at close to standard size.

Do I need to buy UPC codes?

To sell through retailers or Amazon, yes: license them from GS1. For internal stock tracking you can use any numbers, or Code 128 instead.
